Cap ORION

ORION Cap. The objective of this design was to improve the features of the traditional spray canister used for insecticides. The solution lay in creating a single moulded plastic piece which acts as an all-in-one cap, spray mechanism and seal. In irregular forms, with an opening that releases the liquid once the cap has been pressed to break the seal, it is ready for use. The ergonomics in the spray mechanism, the possibility of aiming the spray, and avoiding direct contact with the valve when using the spray, optimise this domestic article?s use and safety. The ORION cap also enables units to be stacked up in piles during storage and technically resolves the problem of protecting the valve without using loose parts that could otherwise get damaged or lost. Importantly, it also prevents users from coming into direct contact with the insecticide liquid. As ORION is an insecticide product designed for use on household plants, the piece that has been designed evokes organic forms taken from the plant and animal kingdom. Represented in plan form, this design is reminiscent of an iris, and when viewed in elevation, its form alludes to that of a coleopteran.
