SANEX Packaging for liquid soap, designed by Josep LLuscà. From the outset, this new packaging for SANEX required a great qualitative leap forward which coincided with an important reformulation of the product itself. The new design responds to the strict international production and standardisation requirements. Its volumes have been designed with all the parameters of highly automated mass production in mind. Taken into consideration in the design of this product were factors such as: the filling speed of the packaging, labelling, packing or industrial stacking as well as the logistics that are involved in launching onto the market a million production units in various size formats and different product properties. In defining the design?s conceptual forms, we opted to integrate the cap profile into the profile of the packaging as a whole. The purpose of this was to transmit an image capable of going beyond the simple addition of a bottle and cap. It had to be an image that could be appreciated for being that of a compact and safe container, easy to handle and carry, optimising at the same time the labelling surface and, as a result, the possibilities of direct advertising between product and user. The cap was researched from the point of view of its ergonomics in order to achieve a result that was easy to operate with one hand. In addition, the nozzle was improved to make it possible to pour the product with greater precision. All of these improvements were intended to benefit fundamental safety and convenience in the handling of the packaging. Along the same lines of optimising the ergonomic design, it has been made easier for blind people to use the product through incorporating Braille onto the surface of the packaging and the cap. This includes indications on how to open the cap, pour out the contents, and even serves to identify the product brand name on the shelf in the point of sale. The new SANEX packaging has already been identified with very characteristic and unique features which in a very short time have positioned the product, in the same line as its predecessors, as a benchmark within the packaging sector.
